What in the world are we doing?!

In other words, why did we start a podcast?

When friends Michelle, from London by way of New Zealand, and Christina, from the USA, would find the time to get together, amid parenting, work, and relationship responsibilities in their adopted shared home in the heart of Europe, the hours would go by and each would leave more energised and emboldened than before.

After multiple years of this, amid a global pandemic, we decided to begin recording our conversations, thus MC Culture Consult was born.

With MC Culture Consult’s goals are:

  • discuss ideas surrounding Intercultural Communication from a beginner’s point of view to process what we have learned and experienced, are learning.
  • learn to live and work together more peacefully and constructively in an increasingly multicultural world.
  • promote intercultural dialogue as a valuable tool for conflict prevention and resolution and for promoting respect for rights and differences.
  • help other expatriates who are planning an intercultural move or who are living outside of their home culture to better navigate their new “home”.

Companies and employees desire a better understanding of their workplace, colleagues, and their international mission; to have the ability to adapt to new work environments and cultures thus preventing miscommunication and clashes.

M.C. Culture Consult…

Sometimes business, other times personal, often educational, always interesting and informative.

Native English speakers living in Germany, working in Luxembourg…

Two native English speakers (UK and USA) investigating cultural difference and personal experiences while living in Germany and working in Luxembourg. Helping understand culture and addressing calamities occurring from cultural misunderstandings. Discussing observations, stories and experiences with a focus on language (German and English).

We want to discuss ideas surrounding intercultural communication from a beginner’s point of view to process what we have learned through first-hand experience and are learning through our own trainings.

‘Relationships and interactions taking place intentionally between different cultures promoting dialogue, mutual respect, awareness, identity while spreading love and understanding.”

We are aiming to learn to live peacefully and constructively in a multicultural world. Intercultural dialogue is a valuable tool for conflict prevention and resolution and for promoting respect for rights and differences.

Companies want their employees to have a better understanding of their workplace and their colleagues, and to have the ability to adapt to new work environments and prevent cultural clashes, we hope to help with this in our own unique way.

Who is this podcast for?

Students, professionals, and anyone else interested in learning more about intercultural communication – coming at it from an educational, learning perspective – sometimes we won’t have the experiences or the answers, but we will have fun, and work through the process together.

Every podcast episode touches on self-reflection, personal stories, interviews and life tips while supporting learning and spreading understanding of culture at home and around the world. Join us on our journey – listen, learn and connect with MC Culture Consult.
